January...going going gone...

Well January has flown by. It started out with a beautiful engagement and has ended with amazement at how fast it has gone by. Only four more months until I get to marry Jerry! I can't wait! The kids are doing well. Weldon is still enjoying karate (he's really good at it actually) and Ava is still herself...cute but sly. I am so blessed with two wonderful children, great parents, and a wonderful fiance. I couldn't ask for more.

This week is going to be a very busy week at work. I have meetings every single afternoon this week, recess duty, and fundraisers going on. It makes for a long stressful week, but hopefully I'll make it through.

One thing that always helps is knowing that I get to see Jerry on Tuesdays. He always comes to visit on Tuesday afternoons since that is his day off. Yeah I know...Tuesday/ Wednesday and 2nd shift doesn't make for much time to see each other, but we really try. I am glad he makes as much as an effort as I make.

We've been visiting this church (First Baptist of Loganville). It is a great church. We went alone the first Sunday and then last Sunday the kids went too. Weldon and Ava both seemed to really enjoy it.

I'm in my last class in my doctorate program. What is left would be eight months of writing a 300 page book. I have decided at this time the best choice for my kids and my new family is to stop after this class. I'll be ABD (all but dissertation (the book)) and I will get specialist pay after this class. I've decided that it is essential to my sanity and to the success of my new family with Jerry to put them first. I want to finally enjoy just living instead of writing papers and stressing out about college all the time. Education is important, but it's not everything and I've been going to college long enough! LOL.

Anyway, that's my plan. Jerry is doing great. He's working harder than ever on second shift and we don't get to see each other much..but he's been a real trooper. I couldn't ask for a more supportive partner.

I hope this finds everyone who reads doing well. I will try to be better about not taking so long to post again.
